The first step is to lay two daggers down to represent the beach. |

Second step, I lay some daggers from right to left to define the water. |

The next step is to fade a half circle above the water and along the beach. |
 |
|
Here I use the bottom of a spray can as a mask to create the sun. This is also just a light fade |

Next are some squiggly daggers to represent the clouds. |

Dagger strokes make up the palm trees and sea grass |
 |
|
Add some light fades for the shadows from the trees and grass, make sure that you remember where your light source is, and put the shadows accordingly. |

Here is a picture of the same scene in color. I used pthalo blue, hot pink, yellow and black in this version. Note that the little birds are also dagger strokes. Add a script name and you have a quick, easy seller. |
